Leave of Absents Policy
San Andreas Emergency Medical Service recognizes that our members may encounter circumstances that require them to take a leave of absence (LOA). We value the well-being of our members and aim to support them through difficult times. Our LOA policy is designed to ensure a smooth process for requesting and taking time off while maintaining the integrity of our department.
Requesting LOA
If you need to take a LOA, you must submit a request prior to going past the 30-day activity requirement. You can do this by filling out a LOA form or contacting your first point of contact in your Chain of Command (CoC) and requesting a manual LOA be submitted on your behalf. Once your LOA is accepted, all designated roles and permissions will be removed.
During LOA
While on LOA, you are still bound to the department's policies, including the Discord community policy. This means that you should not use the LOA system to avoid the activity requirement or engage in any behavior that violates our policies, such as patrolling on other servers while on LOA. Any abuse of the LOA system will result in disciplinary actions, which can include removal from the community.
LOA Duration
LOAs have a maximum of four months deferment of activity. At around the four-month mark, you will be messaged to check your status. If you need a longer LOA, an Angel will review your request and provide an explanation for the extension. Your status will be checked periodically during your LOA. If you do not respond to messages or if the Angels decide not to extend your LOA, you may be brought back to active duty or removed from the department.
We understand that taking a LOA can be a difficult decision, but we want to support our members through any personal challenges they may face. If you have any questions or concerns about our LOA policy, please contact your Chain of Command or a member of the department's leadership team.
